Here and Elsewhere: Nothing to be Done was published in Camera Austria # 139 “Sincerity”, guest edited by Urban Subjets (Sabine Bitter, Jeff Derksen, Helmut Weber).

Excerpt from the essay For Sincerity, by Jeff Derksen
..This sincerity to urban textures and histories is shown in the work of Bitter and Weber, who teamed up with curators Amila Puzic and Anja Bogojević and students in Sarajevo to approach the complexities and social surfaces of that city, in the performative project, “Nothing To Be Done.” This work restages Susan Sontag’s controversial production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot at the Sarajevo Film and Theatre festival in August 1993, during the siege of the city.
Addressing the absurdity of the opening lines of the play, “Nothing to be done,” in relation to the histories and institutional memory of the city, the present becomes the space of encounter as the performers assemble images of the social spaces and the architecture of the city’s socialist past while performing selected lines from the play.
